Sixth graders learned earlier in the year that one of the things King City is best known for is the Big Pump and they had a lot of questions about it. Susan Lewis arranged a visit and shared her knowledge of the history with the kids. She was also subbing for 5th grade today, so they got to tag along and learn with us. Sheila Johnson shared her memories of going to the Big Pump when it was a working gas station in Maryville, Mo.

🌊🦈🎢 3rd Grade Adventure Day in KC! Today, our amazing group of young explorers took a deep dive into the wonders of the ocean at SeaLife Kansas City and then built unforgettable memories at LEGOLAND Discovery Center! From getting up close with mesmerizing sea creatures to building epic LEGO creations, every moment was a perfect blend of learning and laughter. Watching the kids’ faces light up as they touched starfish and constructed their own masterpieces was a beautiful reminder of the power of curiosity and creativity. A big thank you to KC R-1, chaperones, and our awesome students for making this trip one for the books! 💙 #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #FieldTripFun #MakingMemories

The Kats had a good showing at the Class 1 District 4 tournament today in Chillicothe. These boys finished 9th place overall. Jax Jundy, Gage Parsons, and Tucker Mollus all shot personal bests. Jax's score of 84 earned him All-District honors and he will be representing King City at the MSHSAA State Golf Championship on May 19 & 20. It's a great day to be a Wildkat!
