Hi my name is Brooke McKinnon.....I was born and raised here in King City and am so glad I can still call this community my home. I can confidently say I am happy to be called a Wildkat alumni, a staff member of King City R-1 and a mother of two daughters who get to attend this very school.
I knew from a very early age that art would be a major part of my life. I have always liked to decorate, draw and paint and after completing high school, I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in Graphic Design. Not only did I get to further my skills in drawing and painting, but I was able to learn photography too, which I still enjoy doing to this day.
Art is so very important in our schools and to our students. Not only does it allow them to be creative, but it also increases their focus and confidence too. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to teach the students here at King City R-1, to see them grow as artists and to be able to get to know them as individuals.
Art is everywhere and I am so excited for the opportunity to share my appreciation of art with my students!
